Dear IWS members,
As most of you know, our board has dwindled down to a skeleton crew. Replacements have been difficult if not impossible to find. The positions of Executive Director and Treasurer are a must. The IWS registered as an Illinois non-profit in 1981. In order to continue as an arts organization in this state, these positions along with a secreatary and other directors must be filled. Not to mention a website manager and other chair positions.
As many of you also know, many other groups around the country are going through similar problems. Our neighbor, the Missouri Watercolor Society (MOWS) closed their doors last year. The time has simply come. We know most of us keep in touch through social media and othe venues. As for you signature members, you keep those “IWS” letters forever. The painting continues!

- Our website and Facebook members page will remain active through the summer. We will continue managing both.
- Membership renewals and the acceptance of new members have been suspended. Our current membership stands at 178, and all members are paid through April 30, 2026.
